Cocoa Care supports cocoa farming families to revitalize their farms, develop necessary skills and restore the profitability they need to permanently escape the poverty trap.
Through a combination of simple inputs to get started (improved cocoa tree varieties, necessary tools & equipment), farm management training and a friendly helping hand, these farming families can more than double their incomes from cocoa over a 2 - 3 year period.
The Interventions are:
- Cocoa quality is also dramatically improved. Good soil management reduces disease losses (64%-116%) and increases bean size (7%-10%).
- Based on data provided by AMARTA II Project, USAID 2013. Results will vary depending on soil, climatic and other location conditions.
