Farm Details 

  • Area: 0.5 Hectares
  • The farm is on flat land sometimes subject to flooding.
  • The cocoa is planted on a 3M x 4M pattern and 93 trees were sidegrafted about 2 years ago. 
  • The farm requires shade trees planted as it is currently unshaded.

Farm Issues

  • Cocoa pod borer and black pod are the main pest and disease issues.
  • Only basic farm practices applied.
  • There are approximately a dozen trees that are dead and require replacing. 

Farm productivity:  

  • Total harvest per year = +/- 200kg from 0.5 hectares (est. 400kg/ha)
