New Farms & Farmers Join IPNI

Posted on January 24, 2014 by Cocoa Care | 0 comments

We are pleased to introduce you to the 9 new farmers joining the IPNI program. These farmers will receive the same helping hand from the IPNI soil rehabilitation program as those farmers that have been involved in the IPNI program since its commencement in May 2013.

Please meet:
Top row: Basri, Arise & Inuha , Sulaemana & Marsiani. Middle row: Naharuddin & Kasmawati, Vandi & Yuli, Pabbe & Nusmawati. Bottom Row: Aripe & Sania, Supu & Rukia, H. Budi & Hasnawati

Soon, the 9 new farmers will attend training, receive their tools, clean up their farms (pruning, sanitation) and then begin to fertilize in preparation for the main crop in May/June 2014. We will continue to keep you updated.

In addition, we will be adding 4 new farms to the IPNI program. These farms are owned by cocoa families already involved in Cocoa Care (so have already received training & tools) and are in a reasonable condition but require consistent application of GAP and good soil management to achieve optimum productivity.

These farms belong to: Sumange, Nurdin, H.Hade and Anis.

With incredible changes and improvements being seen in the original farms IPNI began working with, we are excited to expand your program reaching even more farmers in 2014. Sincere thanks for your continued commitment to helping cocoa farming families through the support of Cocoa Care programs.
