For The Future Of Cocoa

New Cocoa Trees Fruiting

Posted on January 30, 2014 by Cocoa Care | 0 comments

During a field visit in January 2014 with fellow Cocoa Care sponsor IPNI, we made a visit to Cocoa Carer Aris farm. What we saw was extremely exciting.

The new trees Aris was given and planted as a part of your program sponsorship are already fruiting! These trees are not quite 12 months old and are in superb condition, standard variety of tress would take up to 5 years before fruiting.

These 12 month old trees have a bit more growing to do (about 6-12 months) before they are in full production of about 2 ton per hectare.

In addition to the new cocoa trees, Aris's new shade trees are growing well. This farm is certainly one to demonstrate to farmers about how to grow, care and shade your cocoa trees.

Well done Aris and thank you KokoSmart!
