Top achieving cocoa farmer Tenri was one of the receivers of sponsorship from Dave (UK) in 2013 and now those new cocoa seedlings are one year old and will start producing this year.

Tenri has completed two years of training and achieved very high productivity ( almost 3 T/Ha) and excellent quality parameters.  These new trees coming into production in 2015 will broaden his smile and swell his wallet even more.

New Trees Growing Well

During a routine visit to Farmer Muh Edi's farm, it was wonderful to see him farming tending to the new cocoa trees provided to him as a part of your program. Muh Edi was removing weeds, tossing the soil and checking to make sure they are pest and disease free.

The new trees on both Muh Edi and Aziz's farms, that are now 4 months old, are establishing their root systems well giving them a great start for their first fruiting season in early 2015.

Trees Planted

Posted on January 24, 2014 by Cocoa Care | 0 comments

January 11, 2014 was a very happy day for Farmers Aziz and Muh Edi as they received and planted their new superior quality top grafted cocoa tree seedlings, with the help of Cocoa Advisor Noel, as a part of your program.

Both Aziz and Muh Edi had lost trees over the years due to age and pest & diseases so these new trees will significantly help these farming families increase their farm productivity and help them onto a path for a brighter future.

Your trees will begin to fruit in about 18 months and from 2016 onwards your trees should be producing up to 2kg of cocoa each year or enough to make about 2.3 kg of 70% dark chocolate, about three to four times the current average production of a “typical” cocoa tree in the world today.

We will continue to monitor the progress of your trees so please check back soon.

Your trees will be planted soon and we will continue to monitor the progress of your trees over the next 12 months. Photographs and updates will be posted online here so please check back again soon.
